Red Raiders Reply, Objective Omaha

Kurt Wilson capped a wild back-and-forth with a 3-run blast with one-out in the 8th and Texas Tech won a shootout 8-6 over Oklahoma State on Sunday evening. The 4th win in 6 meetings, between Big 12 foes this season, sends the Red Raiders to the College World Series for the second consecutive year.

There must be something in the water in Lubbock lately. Maybe Chris Beard’s Basketball luck had inspired the boys across the avenue.

After all Collin Simpson had just turned on an 8th inning fastball from John McMillon & Oklahoma State got a sacrifice fly out two batters later to take a 6-4 lead, in the top of the 8th to rally from down 4-1. It looked bleak for the red & black faithful.

It was a back and forth slugfest. In addition to Simpson’s the Cowboys got a home run from Cade Cabinness. Texas Tech hit 4; Jung (2), Fulford, & Wilson’s heroics.
Jung’s second of the night cut the deficit back to one at 6-5 in the 8th just before Wilson. The shortstop had a dream week as earlier he was drafted by the Texas Rangers.

Texas Tech pitcher Bryce Bonnin allowed a solo home run to Trevor Boone of Oklahoma State to start the HR-Derby.
Down 1-0, the bottom of the Red Raiders order went to work on Oklahoma State starting pitcher.

The difference between good and great offenses is production at the bottom. Tanner O’Tremba got on base with a one-out double setting the stage for back to back RBI doubles from Fulford, and leadoff hitter Dylan Neuse.

Josh Jung blasted one over the wall for a little insurance in the 4th. But they couldn’t pull away just yet stranding more on the base-paths.

Bonnin turned over the mound to the bullpen in the 5th inning. John McMillon carried it into the 9th for Dave Haveman. The bullpen allowed 3 also but got the last three when it counted most striking out Simpson to send RIP Griffin Stadium into hysteria.

It took the distance, against a formidable Big 12 opponent, due to a walk-off wild pitch Saturday Night which even forced the if necessary game Sunday.

Texas Tech returns to Omaha, for the 4th time in 6 seasons, poised for bigger things than 2018. They’ll be a tough out. Just like their Basketball squad was in March.

I have discovered some important matters through your site post. One other subject I would like to express is that there are plenty of games that you can buy which are designed specifically for preschool age little ones. They include pattern acknowledgement, colors, animals, and patterns. These typically focus on familiarization as opposed to memorization. This will keep little ones occupied without experiencing like they are learning. Thanks
