At some point, we need to stop talking about preventing mass shootings, and actually do something. Five more dead in a shooting yesterday. Multiple police officers wounded (I'm guessing they were armed). This is insanity. It's sick and disgusting, and it needs to end.

And those officers saved more lives than cost yesterday.

Also, that 1997 figure is cited in the source from 2018. They specifically cited it themselves. If you read the actual source, instead of just what Forbes reported on the source, you'd have seen that.
Again the unbiased CDC states. No one disputes guns save more than cost.

“To bear” means “to carry.” So, while you apparently have the right to carry arms, I see nowhere that you have a right to use them — that is, to discharge them.

    Just sayin’.
    Let's be serious.

Like you say, we should inject humor from time to time (as long as the bulk of the discussion is relevant).

Given that the founding fathers were for the most part notoriously bad spellers (they were!), I actually wonder if the writer of the second amendment didn’t mix things up and mean that we have the right to “bare arms” — that is, to wear tee-shirts, and such.

On topic. Rights — even those enumerated in the Bill of Rights — are not, by either definition, by precedence, or by necessity, without potential restrictions or costs.

I think even with the current left leaning SC, it would get tossed.

...it wasn't actually the CDC, and the source cited the figure from 1997 in their paper without discrediting or indicating why it was wrong. Again, maybe you should actually read your sources before you post them.

...this Supreme Court doesn't resemble anything that leans left or anything remotely left.

This hasn't been updated to include Kavanaugh, but as you can see they took a moderate/median justice (Kennedy) and replaced him with a fairly far right justice (Kavanaugh). Roberts - a guy that leans right - is now now probably the median. It's pretty easily a swing right court, if not a straight conservative court.

Your words imply you are content with the status quo, and the fact that five officers were wounded.

It is always important to keep in mind that implementing stricter regulations does not equal banning of guns.

As such, the cost/benefit analysis is basically meaningless.
